Who We Are
CinciGlobal is a cohort of leaders focused on strengthening and diversifying Greater Cincinnati’s economy through the retention of top international talent. By retaining international students, CinciGlobal is cultivating a climate in which Greater Cincinnati businesses can be competitive in the new economy.
CinciGlobal is part of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s Talent Attraction strategy aiming to expand the talent base in southwest Ohio, southeast Indiana and northern Kentucky. The committee is comprised of representatives from the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Tri-ED, REDI, ethnic chambers, professional organizations, over ten universities and colleges as well as top employers throughout the region.
CinciGlobal originally began as a result of the (former) Agenda360 study on the impact of immigrant talent on the region’s economy. Studies showed that immigrants disproportionately contribute to economic growth, employment, and wage gains. In addition, more than 50% of PhDs (and sometimes as much as 40% of master’s degrees) in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) are awarded each year in the U.S. to international students. Since IT and engineering are the among the fastest growing industries, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find qualified candidates for high level technical positions if international students are not considered as part of an employer’s applicant pool.
What We Do
CinciGlobal provides resources, trainings and growth opportunities to international students searching for experience in the greater Cincinnati business ecosystem. Through the cinciglobal.org website articles/ links coupled with ad hoc strategic events, CinciGlobal provides local students and employers with resources on relevant immigration regulations and cross-cultural issues that both employers and international applicants may experience during the hiring process.
